Derrick Porter
Derrick is a hometown tattooer born into a tattoo family, he first worked the desk at his dad’s shop and eventually moved to South Side— taking the manager position at Kyklops. After years on the business side, Derrick made the move to artist and apprenticed under our own Peter J. Larkin III.
Derrick is most at home tattooing in a traditional style and working from his own flash which he is constantly painting. Flip through his book and you’ll find Derrick’s versions of classic tattoos (stuff originally designed by tattoo legends), and you’ll also find the pop culture influences of a 90s kid. You might see American traditional versions of Garfield and Ren & Stimpy placed alongside a Bert Grimm eagle or an Ed Hardy-style panther.
